Dirty as the days on the outside Pure as the morning on the inside You were at the door ready to try So coloured your nails blood & black Learned to be shit & took arms In the resistance against TV pop crime Not to be trapped in the slowmud of life So powdered your nose bluish white Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Frustration as a small gal Half-animal bitchy witchy teen trash That night you tried to lay her on the sofa Under melancholy purple suburb skies You had met in biology class While balls grow in the neck of rats Puke pillow, cold dinner you got Early birds, looped CD at the back Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the fuck raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the hell raped your joy Late century hopeful boy Who the fuck raped you boy

Everything has an end but I'm glad we knew The infinite's warmth between our palms Some years gone, well I'd say won, across the line of no return Well it's nothing new, I adore you Yum with tangerine lips & peach leather That's how you made me boil, you made me melt Crowned with a copper cascade, silver temper Oh so precious, had to untie your belt Everything has an end but I'm glad we knew The infinite's warmth between our palms A few years gone, well I'd say won, across the line of no return Well it's nothing new, I adore you Who were you, familiar woman in my bed? I kinda met myself in your killing eye You could do the same, snoop inside my head At last we were clever enough to keep high

I saw it years ago in the heat preceeding the slumber After a hard working day I went to rest against the shire Layed down on a summit in fragrant wildflowers Then could feel the distance & the echo of other gloomy hours (My snail age) then the space web appeared as a spider's This is when I really saw it for the first time So far away though closer than ever From the vines I saw Mars Huge & unmasked Replacing the mistress of tides Blood is its colour, blood is the colour Of wilderness, wealth & orgy Madness, violence, conquest Mars from the vines 2000 years ago, 2000 years away, the heat was even stronger There was such a glory, stiff men & crimson-souled donnas I heard brass chinking, saw myself falling under the hourrahs Since I've returned I feel possessed Occupied by a larvae Squatted in my sleep From uptown I still can see Mars Branded on my retinas Even from afar It's still, still, still in the back of my eyes Still, still, Mars on the vines
